Get watermelon sugar high with this happy watermelon amigurumi. Intermediate crochet level required.

crochet watermelon slice

Hi everyone!

Normally I make beginner amigurumi patterns, but I think this one may be on the intermediate side. Instead of just crocheting in the round like most of my previous amigurumi patterns, this one will be worked in rows because we are going to start with a square, and then transition to working in rounds by crocheting in the BLO.

Some embroidery work is needed for the face, however, you can make a regular watermelon if you don't want to add the face. The kawaii watermelon slice amigurumi is perfect to crochet for markets, gifts for foodies, watermelon lovers, and child's play sets.

Watermelon Amigurumi

The watermelon slice amigurumi is an intermediate crochet pattern. It is worked in both rows and in the round. Pay close attention to the pattern as it will indicate when to switch between the two. The watermelon is crocheted in one piece starting from the bottom.

Face: Take some black to embroider thread and make some eyes. Use the yellow embroidery thread for the cheek blush and the seeds. You don’t have to make the eyes and mouth the same shape I did. That’s the beauty of crochet, to make things your own! The seeds are placed randomly. I did my seeds with yellow embroidery thread, but it’s up to you if you want to use a different color.
